I am getting ready to go back to college and am getting my MBP ready security wise.

I set a firmware password, but have a question about its use. I know it prevents booting from another disc without the password, but would someone be able to bypass this by removing the current hard drive and placing another one in the computer?

Or, another way to put it, is this stored in non-volatile memory on the system itself versus on the hard drive?

Thanks for your help.
