I'm planning on buying a 13" Macbook Pro this coming June. I was wondering if instead of getting a free ipod touch with the MBP, I could take $200 dollars off of the price of the MBP.

I was also wondering if the Apple Store carried any of the Base 13" MBPs with larger HDDs.

Thanks in Advance

The answer to both is no, unfortunately. You can only buy the computer at full price, then get $200 off the iPod. As far as the bigger HDDs, it's not common for stores to stock them, and it's a better deal to just buy a bigger one and upgrade it on your own.

It's been an electronic rebate in the past; not just a free iPod. You pay full price for the iPod then get a rebate for the price of the cheapest touch. The only instant rebates that you get are the student discounts (if you qualify).

You have to purchase everything first (including the ipod) and then you have to file the rebate form...apple when then mail you the check for $200...
hope this helps..good luck

amounts to a discount

A widely-used strategy is to buy the MBP and iPod Touch, get the rebate, and sell the Touch. It's a pretty win-win deal.
