Is there any way I can change the default location where Garageband saves files? I just got an external hard drive and moved all of my GB files into it, but whenever I start a new project it automatically creates a new GB folder on the main hard drive in the music folder and saves the project there. Is there any way I can change this? There doesn't seem to be such an option in the preferences...

Just put an alias in your Music/Garageband folder pointing to wherever you want. That's what I do, it works fine.

I don't understand. Why would that work? Why would the files save automatically into the alias just because it is in that folder? Wouldn't new projects just get saved into the original folder and sit there next to the alias?

I dunno, try it, works for me. Maybe it sticks because the disk is always available for me (it's a second internal disk in my Powermac). Try remembering to mount the external disk before you launch Garageband if it doesn't work.

Have you tried it?
