Question about getting the 3GS and keeping my number

I would like to think that, when I go to the O2 store tomorrow, I'll sign my new 18mnth contract and take the SIM out of my 1st gen and slip it into the 3GS.

But I get the feeling it's unlikely to be that simple! I wonder if I'll get a new number and have to spend hours on the phone to cust services to port the number.

Does anyone know?

you shouldn't have a problem switching the sims over. it's a good thing that the iphone doesn't use satellites.
