Is it necessary to restore the phone before changing jailbreaks on 4.2.1?

Should I just wait for redsn0w 0.9.7b7 (whenever they finally get around to it for Windows )

I only ask because I've tried to do the Greenpois0n JB on my I4 and it fails every time when it gets to "mounting user filesystem" or something like that.

No, it works over the tethered 4.2.1
Just run greenpoison.
Try a different computer if the one you're using is giving you problems. Sometimes its tricky getting it into dfu and thru the rest of the JB steps with GP.

That's the thing. It goes into DFU mode just fine and the JB starts with all the stuff on the screen.

Then, it gets stuck at "unable to mount user filesystem!"

Could something like iProtect be interfering? I wouldn't think so, but I'm just spitballing here.

Well, I disabled iProtect and tried again with no luck. Same exact issue.

I guess I will wait for the redsn0w update for Windows.

This phone is really odd in so many ways and gives me problems constantly. I can't wait to get rid of it when I go to A-stan this summer.

At least I was able to boot tethered again so I can keep using it.
