Question about how OS X apps will see win apps running in fusion

I'm working on a new java project for a friend, and he requires using DB2 for the database. and IBM only delivers this for nix and for win.

so my question is, if i setup windows in a VMware Fusion instance, and DB2 installed on there, will the java app running in OSx see db2?
