Hello fellows apples, I recently purchased a used iMac the 2009 3.06Ghz 21.5 and it was a really great buy previous owner upgraded to 1tb. Anyway I use final cut a lot and I noticed there was a lot of lag when importing content, well the first thing I did was order more ram.I know this isn't going to make a big difference but I figured I should do it anyway.

Well I jumped from 4 to 12 hoping it would make a great difference and I truly can't tell but it seems final cut still lags the same.

My question really is several, would there be anything software wise I should do after installing RAM(yosetime) or maybe I could upgrade the graphics? It's the model that is dedicated video 256mb Not the integrated model.

Thanks in advanced

Video editing is more limited by CPU and GPU, neither of which are replaceable.

The dual core CPU doesn't cut it anymore, and neither will the anemic GPU.

Well hopefully it runs better after a full wipe and install, the thing that gets me is that it plays StarCraft 2 well very well, well thanks anyway
