Question about iMessage

I was wondering, how does iMessage work exactly?

Is it like BBM where each device has a PIN and you need that PIN to add someone? Or does it work like Facetime where you add people through your e-mail?

OP, im not one to tell people to search, but jeez, at least look at a couple other threads before posting such a question..

No PIN's. iMessage can be used with either a valid email address or a phone number.

It's that easy.
