My brother has a bunch of music on his MB pro and i want to get it off of there onto my iMac, but the only problem is that some of his iTunes library contains some of the music on my iMac (prob about 30%). Is there a way in iTunes that I can select something and it will recognize some of the files are the same and only import the new ones?

Thanks for listening!

I suspect not (but may well be hopelessly wrong), but when you've finished, you can just use the "Show duplicates" option and delete everything that's doubled up in one swell foop.

Cheers!

if you're both using the exact same filing system and names then they should just overwrite/not write the files. That's my experience anyways
