This question is not for iphone 3GS and it is only for iphone 3G
I understand multi tasking is not supported on 3G, but can I have at least wallpaper on my home screen on iphone 3G? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Nope. It is not supported. Only for the lock screen.
