let me get this straight, when i get my iphone 4 and the 2 year contract is over. can i just cancel the data and continue to use the iphone 4 on my family plan WITHOUT paying for data? because i dont really want the data plan >_> i just want the phone. OR can i just buy it for $700 and call it good?

btw; i am on AT&T

i read that you can jailbreak the iphone 4 then unlock it. but i am not sure since you are on at&t if unlocking it will allow you to use iphone 4 on at&t without data. my friend has 3gs and he unlock his iphone 3gs; he does not have any sort of data plan

Its $15/mo, not worth hassle trying to circumvent AT&T's data rules.

Ive had rogers guys tell me this, im not sure if its the same here but..

Buy the phone on a 3 year contract with data.

Pay the first month's payment.

Cancel the data for 100$.

Get a new contract with whatever you want.
