Question about Iphone Upgrade

My account says the following about my upgrade....

"You are eligible for an early upgrade to an iPhone at a reduced discount. Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade to an iPhone at a discounted price on 07/11/2009"

Does this mean i will be eligible for the $199? I am confused

Yes , on july 11 you can go to the atat store and pick up the iphone 3gs for the cheap price

So they are only making us 3G adopters wait a year into our contracts before we can upgrade to the 3GS for the $199 price??? I thought we had to wait until close to the 2 year mark when our contract ended?

Just spoke to an ATT rep and they told me the same thing. I bought my 3G last year around July 28th, and my upgrade date is July 30th at the discounted/subsidized pricing. I've seen on some of the threads that they have given problems to people who have multiple lines on their account in terms of when they are eligible for the reduced pricing and I think it also has something to do with how much you are spending monthly. I'm on the unlimited voice & data plan.

man i wish i knew for sure...I dont plan on upgrading but if they are gonna give me the $199 price in a month then i will do it.....guess we will find out!
