Question about Iphones camera.... (CCD, Infrared)

Okay so, i know the iphone CAN detect Infrared, and i know this because it was able to see the Tv's remote control Infrared light =]

okay, so... does that mean, that the IPhone is capable of seeying infrared?

does the iphone have an IR filter that tries to block out the Infrared??

p.s, if i put an external Infrared filter outside(in front of the camera) will it be able to just receive the Infrared? or no
