Question about Iphones

I was wondering normally I am used to mobile phone with memory stick, I was wondering does the Iphone not having a memory stick affect in anyway?

Like let say if the Iphone has any problem will there be a way to recover any data like photo, videos, apps even though the Iphone has no memory stick?

Are there any increase risk of getting things like malware when a Iphone is jailbroken?

I am thinking of getting the Ipod touch or Iphone.

I know people that has the Iphone and they say its great, I tried the Iphone out and it is truly a great mobile phone.
