I'm looking to get an ipod from an online forum. It's sealed and not open. My question is am I still covered under warranty from apple if I the seller does not have a receipt for it? He says it was a gift.

Thanks.

If it's less than a year old you can plug the serial number into apple.com and it will tell you the details. The serial number is engraved on the iPod. I'm not entirely sure but I think Apple will cover you without a receipt, as long as the serial number is OK.

Hmm ok. So maybe I should get it registered at apple.com then give the guy the $$. Where on apple's site is the registration? (canadian)
