Question about Itunes

Upfront, I'm using a PC running windows 7 ultimate 64bit not a mac. I just upgraded from 10.1 to 10.2 and when I switched it to home share (for my apple tv2) it locked up. Now it won't start at all. I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled from scratch and it worked ok until I turned on home share. Any Idea's? Is there a way to stream to my apple tv2 with out having home share turned on?
