hey so im using 10.4.11 and waiting for Lion.. do i need to go thru all the leopard then snowleopard to install the Lion when it releases? and if ever i need to upgrade do i just insert the cd or do i have to backup my files?
thanks

You just need to buy the 29 USD Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD and then update to 10.6.8 to be able to download Lion.
A backup is not needed, but you should, in case something goes awry.
External HDDs can be had for 30 to 50 € nowadays.

so im basically stuck with tiger? or leopard will work?

Leopard is the last OS to support PPC processors. Leopard is practically impossible to find in retail, but you can buy it directly through Apple.

You'll have to buy a new Mac if you want either Snow Leopard or Lion.
