Hi all,

Here's the deal. I've been in the market for a Macbook Air for the last few months. It just so happened that a few days before WWDC Macmall.com had an offer pop up for the 1.8/Ghz 64GB/SSD model for $1349.00 and then a $250 rebate. Awesome I thought. Basically I get the computer for $1100 (no taxes and shipping was only $6.00). I know it's the older Rev. A model but it was the cheapest NEW MBA with SSD anywhere; and it suited my needs perfectly, so things couldn't have been better. So I ordered it and it'll be here this Friday.

Skip to today: I went to Macmall.com to check on post WWDC price updates on all of the Mac laptops and I noticed that they cut the rebate offer on my MBA to $150. What gives? Now i'm wondering if they even intend to honor the $250 rebate program that was in effect when I purchased the laptop? According to my account info online the rebate still shows up, and I have the rebate form printed out with the $250 amount and different promotional code #; but the thing that worries me the most is that on the rebate form is says that they (Macmall.com) "reserve the right to change the terms and conditions or end the offer at any time without notice." So is it possible that they just send me the $150 rebate instead? Or none at all? The last thing I want to do is open the computer and use it (thus rendering it unreturnable) and find out 6-8 weeks later (once it's too late) that i've been stiffed. If i'm going to pay $1349.00 or even $1200, i'd rather just pay a little more and get a newer refurb unit from Apple. The whole point of me buying from Macmall.com was the lower price.

Are my concerns valid? Is Macmall known for pulling these types of stunts, or are they usually good about following through on rebates? I'm going to give them a call in the morning but I'm already skeptical of anything the customer service rep may tell me. Argh..... I guess i've already "thrown in the towel" on this one and have probably answered my own question but would like your guys' input.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and insight
