Hi, I have a question about managing my music, apps, documents, and pretty much everything in finder. I just purchased a new external hard drive to back up everything I have, so I'm just transferring everything on to the drive from my MBP.
My question is as I'm adding new music, apps, documents, or just anything else to the MBP, and I want to back the new material up on the external hard drive, am i going to have to find the new music and apps individually and drag them onto the external hard drive? Because iTunes automatically made a folder for apps and music that has everything in it and automatically puts it in the correct folder that iTunes created as I download/import new stuff. I want to know if I can just take the same folder, lets say music, and put the whole thing on my hard drive without duplicated everything? And it puts just the new music on the drive and not everything else again, because i think in the future it might be a pain to remember the cd's I imported or downloaded, and I'd rather just take the whole folder that says music and put that on the drive, because iTunes automatically puts all new music in my music folder, which is a nice feature.
Thank you for any replies and I'm sorry if this doesn't make much sense.
