I'm looking at getting a 27" USB-C monitor to use with my M1 MacBook Air. I sometimes use a webcam/microphone to do Zoom calls. Could I hook these up to the monitor (assuming it had the right ports)? Failing that, could I have the MBA open and use the microphone/webcam on that?

I've always used desktops in the past so I'm a real noob on this.

Both should work. If you have both the external webcam/mic and the MBA display open you'll probably have to select the correct combination. Different software has different ways to do this but I've never found it difficult to figure out.

I do this with a 24" display and a cheap webcam. I don't use the microphone though, I just use AirPods.
