Question about MBP 13'' 2010 and DVI

Hi, I've a MBP 13" 2010 and I'm ussing a external monitor with a mini display port to vga adapter... my question is if I will see an improvement if I use a mini display port to dvi adapter??

Some people says yes and some people says that the adapter sold by apple is actually analog and not digital... any ideas?
