Hello all,

I noticed in some of the other threads about the Microcenter $999 13" MBP deal they have going. My problem is that I think I want to upgrade to a larger HD instead of just the standard 250GB one. Is this possible at Microcenter or would I just be better off to buy through Apple?

Take advantage of the deal from Micro Center and then upgrade the HD yourself. As mentioned it doesn't affect the warranty at all and is a 10 minute job. I'd recommend buying the replacement drive from OWC (www.macsales.com) they specialize in Macs and will only carry products they know to work in your model. They also have pre and post sales support and instructional videos on how to do the disk upgrade in fact here is the one for a 15" MBP, the steps are identical on a 13" model:

YES! I second this - Thanks to the instructional videos on OWC I can now switch out my own HD and RAM. And I'm by no means an expert. So if I can learn, anyone can learn. Save yourself HUNDREDS and go this route
