Ok so basically my situation is this. I have a 13" MBP, and I want to hook it up to my HDTV. I happen to have an extra HDMI cable laying around so I was wondering If I could do the following

Can i buy a apple mini display to DVI converter, and buy a DVI to HDMI converter then plug the cable into my TV? What would the quality be of a fullscreen movie running like this? The TV is about 40 inches.

So basically it would be

MBP - mini display to DVI - DVI to HDMI - HDMI to TV

Would that work?

That's how it generally works with the Apple adapter, yes. That's the setup I'm using, but with a DVI/HDMI cable and it's perfect.

Just get this, it will carry you audio too. Otherwise, you will need a separate cable to carry sound to your TV.

monoprice also sells the adapter with toslink. And then you would need a standard hdmi cable not a mini displayport to hdmi cable as the adapter converts the mini displayport plus either USB audio or optical out audio, depending on the adapter, to a female hdmi port.
