I am considering buying a high quality monitor to use with my Macbook 16" (2021) rather than buy a new iMac which was my original plan. Could I get some guidance about what might be good to look at and what compatibility issues need consideration? Thanks!

For best quality go 4K. For best productivity I love ultra wide with more than 1440 vertical resolution. IPS panel with good viewing angles is a must too imo.

Brand wise I would go with something that offers good warranty. Dead pixels on new panel can drive you mad.

Not sure what compatibility issues we will have with the new gen but currently I’m running my 14” on a 38” Dell ultra wide and it works like a charm.
