I am replacing my Vertex SSD for an Intel 320 SSD. Do I need to upgrade the Intel SSD at all, or do I just install it into my iMac and run the OS install? Should I also do the Trim Enabler after the Lion install, or does that not matter with the Intel SSD?

I wouldn't buy the Intel 320 until Intel releases the new firmware that address the drive's random failure.

I already received the drive, and was going to do the swap today. I read that the failure was due to power outages, and if you shut down the system correctly, then there wont be an issue. Is that wrong?

If I were to install the drive today, can I run a firmware update later on, while its in my iMac?
