Question about os 4 multitasking.

I know that when you double click the home button all the apps that are running show up, but what if you go to the home screen and enter the app that way instead? Will the app still be saved in it's previous state, or will it restart?

Previous state. It would act like a shortcut to the currently saved state of the app.

You're talking about Fast App Switching rather than Multitasking.
