I just got my OWC external Firewire burner the other day, and while it works great, the one thing about it that bothers me is that when a disc is in the burner, I cannot eject the CD from the drive by pushing the button on the drive, I have to eject the disc by dragging it's icon on the desktop into the trash. Also, I cannot get Itunes to recognize the burner in order to burn discs using it.

Any ideas?

The Mac OS Ten "eject" button on the keyboard applies to any and all CD/DVD related media, so it's a accident-prevention system that doesn't allow all ejectable media to be ejected by it. I believe there's a way to add the eject button on the menu bar on the top screen and select which ejectable media you would like to open/eject.

Dragging a CD to the trash really isn't that difficult ;)

As for the iTunes ordeal: Go into iTunes preferences -> Advanced -> Burning and select which CD/DVD burner you would like iTunes to use when burning a media disk.

That should solve it :)

Peace
