Hey guys,

First off I apologize if this has been posted before, I did search the forums but came up with nothing. I know this is probably a noob question, but is there any way I can partition my hard drive on my iBook G4 so that I can boot off of Tiger on one partition, and Panther on the other? I've never partitioned a drive before, so any advice would help. I've also attached a pic of what I see when trying to partition my drive. Thanks!

You can, but your drive is kinda small. I'd really suggest getting a much larger drive.

1. Make a good clone on an external drive of the existing volume (SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner are both perfect for this).

2. Partition the drive into the desired sizes.

3. Boot from the clone (hold Option at the sound of the Mac startup chime).

4. Restore from the clone to one of the partitions

5. Install the other OS onto the other partition.

6. Boot from one or the other as desired, using the Option key.

Select the preferred startup volume from System Preferences.
