Question about Peel (hard) cases

I've seen videos and a few comments about dust or something getting behind the case and scratching the back. Is this something I really need to worry about? Is there a way to prevent it (aside from smart a$$ answers like don't take to the beach and play in sand)

I’ve always used a skin with the Peel cases to protect the back of the phone. Or, if you’re patient enough and have contact paper lying around, cut to size.
