I am a current AT&T customer with 4 lines on my family's plan, none of them iPhones. Can I just buy an iPhone and add a $30 data plan or do I have to agree to an entirely new contract and have termination fees? Basically, can you transfer old contracts like with the original iphone? I don't want to have to agree to a new contract when my old one is just 6 months old. I also don't want to buy another line and pay $10 extra each month. (To a high school student that can add up)

The only way for you to upgrade is if you buy the iPhone for the unsubsidized price then add the data plan to which ever line that you would like to associate with the iPhone.
