Not sure where else to post this question, so throwing it out there.. here... So I'm coming back to AT&T. I had 1 line left with them, and it's based out of Minnesota. I ordered 3 new iPhone 5's, with the intention of getting the phones into my hand, then porting my existing numbers over the assigned numbers.
So Friday the phones come. I'm porting my number, my sister's #, and my brother in law. The problem I'm foreseeing is that we've all moved around the country so much, so my number is a CA number, theirs is a Florida number, and I want to keep the 1 old MN number I had.
I know back in the old days of wireless, AT&T was so separated market by market the way things were set up in the billing system. I asked several AT&T reps if my port will be possible and I got 1 no, 2 yes, and 1 very very unsure yes.
Does anyone know the answer and can confirm this one way or another? My assumption is a number is just a number these days, and AT&T can't still be in the dark ages and not realize that people move around but don't change numbers... right???
