I was wondering if anyone had any insight on exchange. I ordered two iPhone 4S 16GB black from Apple.com. If, hypothetically, I decided I wanted to exchange the black for white, would this be possible?

yes

i dont beleive there will be an issue, if there is avialable inventory. They recently stopped charging restock fees as well.

I just won't be able to open the package or what are the restrictions?

Typically Apple will only exchange for the exact same product. What you could do is just return and then purchase the one you want.

Well that is for defects. Unopened product shouldn't be a problem switching out

Alright thanks guys, I think I'm going to stick with black, white is a little flashy for my liking.

My recommendation would be not to open it.
I ordered a white ip4. When I received it I decided to swap it.
Walked in with a white and out with a black in matter of minutes.
