Question about potential redesign

I keep seeing that certain people are waiting til next year when there will presumably be a total redesign. What exactly are people thinking this entails? We know touch screens are out in favor of larger multitouch pads, so what sort of from the ground up redesign are people expecting whatsoever? Thanks.
 
Some are hoping for liquid metal, but that is likely a pipe dream
Others want the dvd drive removed and the space reallocated, which is somewhat more likely, but not a given
