Question about receiving a PM

I received a mild chiding PM last night from an established member. When I opened the conversation, I noticed that it was locked to any replies. I have never seen that before with someone sending me a PM nor do I remember seeing that option to invoke whenever I have sent a PM to a member (which I may have missed). Is this normal behavior for the forum software?

It has always been there as an option during PM's. You just hadn't noticed it before. It is not toggled on by default, but a participant in the PM thread can invoke it.

Kind of a DB move to send a PM that can't be replied to, IMO.

You can select to lock a reply when starting a conversation

Just start a new conversation to him/her with your response (but be sure to lock it on them as well)

I agree. I would have politely responded to the person but, he or she didn't afford me the chance to respond to the mild chiding.
