Question about restoring from backup to iOS7

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering - if I restore from an iOS 6 backup when I upgrade to iOS 7 will all of my apps be re-downloaded and in the same spot on the home screen as before? For some reason every time I upgrade to a new OS and restore from a backup I lose all of my apps and I need to manually get them all back.
