Here is the deal... my iPhone 4 was stolen (kept meaning to install find my iphone and didnt)... anyway, I am not about to buy a new one when the 5 comes out in a month or so.

So my friend has an old 3G that she is letting me use for a bit, but I cannot restore from my last iPhone 4 backup. From what I gather it is because the software is not up to date, but I restored the phone like it was brand new. The software should be up the latest.

Is there anyway to do this? Please help

I don't think it can be done by an iPhone 3G, but I saw a post where it worked witha 3GS(Maybe). Anyway, are you sure the firmware of you iPhone 4 and 3G are the same? I think they should be the same.
