I am debating whether to buy the iPad 3, but I'm not sure if I would consider retina display a good thing.

I am curious of whether iPhone apps without retina level graphics appear blurry at all, similar to maybe a 2x app on the iPad?

With the large majority of apps not being retina ready for the iPad display, the blurryness of apps really bothers me, enough to make me wait to buy.

I don't think it'll make much of a difference to what it does now if you're putting iPhone apps on an iPad because although it will have retina display the actual resolution will be different. You will need the apps that are optimised for both iPhone and iPad, unless I am mistaken
