When I click on a link or something that needs to be downloaded a new window opens up and wants me to type a URL. Does anybody know how to stop the new window from opening? I just want to download, not open a new window. I tried looking in the settings and couldn't find anything. Thanks!!

Go to Safari-Preferences-Tabs-Select "Always" in Open new pages in tabs instead of windows.

Thanks for the suggestion but that's not what I want to do. I don't want a new tab or window to open when I download something. If the downloaded material opened in its own window or tab that would be fine, but it doesn't. The window opens and there is nothing there.

Is this happening for every download or just from a certain website?
