I have a 2015 MacBook Pro 15" and a 2016 MacBook Pro 15". When I am on websites such as Facebook and Macrumors the font is noticeably smaller on the 2016 Pro that the 2015. Both are set to default resolution. Anyone able to explain this? Shouldn't both be the same?

They changed the default "zoom" for the 2016 model, so it would look smaller. Check under Displays in System Settings and click the scaled option, it should be different between your two models.

I have to go back and check it, but I am thinking the same thing on my 13" Macbook. I think the default resolution is higher (can be checked in preferences) compared to older models. Maybe I am imagining it though.

I think the default resolution is what you are talking about.....right?

Yep. The default on the rMBP from 2015 and before is "looks like 1280x800" but the default on the 2016 is "looks like 1440x900".
If you click the 'scaled' button, you can change it back if you want (or change the older ones up to 1440x900).

Why did they do this btw? Shouldn't 1440x900 be the default since it is the screen's resolution halved?

I had to change to scaled and move to the 2015 size print and resolution. The small print just wasn't fun to read. At first it didn't look quite as sharp, but now it looks like my 2012 retina MacBook Pro which I was always happy with.

Since they are using 1440x as the new default, would make sense to put a higher resolution panel (2880x) in the next MBP 13" to optimise sharpness and performance.

To you guys on 2016 MPB 13: can you confirm 1440x is sightly blurry vs 1280x? It is on my 2015 MBP
