Hey guys. Since I updated my HomePod to 14.2, I noticed that Siri is always replying with a voice feedback when I ask her (or it ?) to do something in another room. For example, if I am in the leaving room and I ask to turn on the lights in the bedroom, Siri replies "Okay the bedroom lights are on". It's really annoying as before it would do so without giving me feedback. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that, or if you could suggest a solution ?

Even though I've been a long time follower of MacRumors, it's the first time I post here so don't hesitate to tell me if I'm not in the right place...

Thanks guys !

Siri would always confirm a HomeKit action if it took place outside the room that was part of the scene or zone the HomePod was in. But it was usually a nice brief "Done". Now it's a dissertation. I assume, since this coincided with all the "Suggested Automations" that they pushed into iOS 14 that the change was done to try and get new people into HomeKit. But I wish it was like "Read the news" where you get that big feedback the first couple of times, then it settles back down into brief acknowledgements. We can only hope some of this gets fixed in a future update.

It would be a nice start if they fixed the whole "lights is on" and "light are off" mess. That's been going on for months now, and Apple should be a little embarrassed to be honest.

The 14.3 update released today has finally fixed Siri's horrible grammar. It's now "lights are on" and "light is off" instead. Hallelujah.

Yes or maybe just allow us to remove Siri's feedback altogether when an action is done.

For me when I asked it to turn on/off the lights in the bedroom it used to do it without any feedback..

I was not expecting a HomePod update today but I bet Apple waited a bit to release it so they can show off their new HomePod update interface lol.

For me, any command given to a HomePod which is for a room that the HomePod is not located in, it would always give a verbal confirmation of it being done.......if the command was for something that is in the same room as the HomePod then it is done without confirmation.
