I have a Macbook Pro that is a little over a year old and I recently purchased an Imac which comes with Snow Leopard. My question is does anyone know if I can use the Snow Leopard disk that comes with the Imac to upgrade my Macbook Pro? Thanks in advance for the help.

Legally, no. Technically, no (unless they gave you an up-to-date disc separately, and it wasn't pre-installed…). If it's a grey disc that came with your Mac, then no.

you can try - it may or may not work depending on the type of OS dvd they shipped with the imac. if it works, you won't get in trouble or anything - but this IS illegal, just so you know.

Maybe I'll give it a shot and see if it works. I'll report back. If anyone knows that it will work please post.

the grey discs are hardware specific.

if it is a snow leopard install DVD then it should work.

keep in mind you are violating the EULA and posting you are doing so online.
