question about ssd and hdd

im getting a macbook pro 15 in and i was wondering how to have to put an hdd where the superdrive is...would my best bet be to get the pro with an ssd from apple? any advice would be great thanks

You use a module called "Optibay", they can be had from MCETech and other, less expensive, sources.

And if you don't actually use TRIM, you can get any SSD from any third party reseller and put it into the MBP yourself, as that is quite cheaper.

The new macbook pros can handle SATA 3 speed SSDs. Apple SSDs are SATA 2, you will see a noticeable increase in speed if you get a third party SATA 3 drive, such as the Vertex 3 series from OCZ.
