I bought mine in late 2008, the 1st Gen unibody. On the box it's called "Macbook". But it seems later generations of the 13" got the "Macbook Pro" designation. Is that about right? So I can't say I have a MBP if it's 1st gen?

Nope, it's a MacBook, but it fit into the exact same slot that the 13" Pro does now. We just like to call it the Collector's Edition ;) (hence the CE in my sig)

If it says "MacBook" on the screen bezel then you have a MacBook. If it says "MacBook Pro" then you have a MacBook Pro. You'd be lying to yourself if you thought otherwise :p

Oh gosh, don't try to spread that again.

Haha, I do so jokingly. I do like that mine isn't the pro though, not many people I know have these
