They said in the event this: "This is the first OLED display great enough to be in an iPhone." and after that they said traditional OLED (i dont know if they are referring to Samsung here) come with trade offs

+ Great contrast
+ High resolution
+ Thinness
- Brightness
- Wide color support
- Color accuracy

According to them the iPhone X has all of those. However the specs of the phone state it has only 625 nits of brightness while the Samsung Note8 has 1200 nits which is nearly double. How come Apple can say in this case that it is going to be bright and how is it going to compare against the Note8's display?
 
It'll be fine. Has any iPhone to this point not been bright enough for you? There is another thread about this that goes into the details of the nits if you want to check it out.
