Hey guys,

I'll be heading over to my folks place soon for a few days. There will be a shiny new 8GB touch waiting for me there (well, refurbished with old software, but same difference) :). I'm going to be very eager to set it up, obviously. My question is, if I buy the January Update at my folks place using their mac, will there be a problem later on if for some reason I have to restore everything when I'm back home on my main computer? Basically, is the January Update only going to reside on my folk's computer if I buy it there, or will it copy to my computer when I re-sync it back home?

Thanks for any help :)

It should copy it back, but if I were you I would just copy the directory where that file is stored, place it on a flash drive, and add it to your computer at home. If something goes wrong there, just report a problem to iTunes and they'll let you re-download it. Good luck and enjoy your new iPod!

To be safe you may as well wait it out. You'll probably be in love with the apps it already has anyway.

Enjoy it. :)
