question about the new bt keyboard

I just spilt a drink on the old bt keyboard and its fried. I want to buy the new one but i noticed that the requirements state that you need an existing keyboard for initial setup. Is that true? How would someone buying a new iMac set up their keyboard. Any help would be great.

I set one up on my macbook. From what I remember, as long as you can login (no password or auto login) you should be ok. You will have to click the bluetooth icon, click setup new device, click on keyboard then next. It should find it, then prompt you to enter the passcode on the keyboard then press enter. You will have to download the keyboard update / check for software update to get the special keys to work.

Got it......

It works great. I am whiffing a bit while typing, but i guess there is a bit of a learning curve. I wish the spacebar was a bit higher. The Apple 5th ave store is crowded at midnight.
