So if I have my TC plugged into the internet directly, and say I download a large file from my laptop and save it directly to the TC (I'm assuming that's possible) - then will I see faster download speeds than if I wirelessly downloaded the large file to my laptop through the wireless?

I'm not sure if this question makes any sense but if it does, thanks for your input.

Unless your internet connection is greater then 320Mbit then probably not. Remember if you save a file you are downloading to the TC it has to be first wireless transfered from the internet to the laptop and then back from the laptop to the TC. You can't directly save something to it and bypass your computer.
