Sorry had no idea where to post this cause I'm acctually looking for a jpeg or gif(or whatever for that matter) of the good ol Spinning Beach Ball of Doom. The higher the res the better, but even a image of the acutal ball on the screen will work.

So any ideas where I can find an image or anyone have one?

I've tried doing some screen captures, but it never grabs the beach ball since its a mouse icon.

I saw someone call it

the spinning psychedelic pizza of death.

and, no, I don't know where to get it from....sorry.

I've attached a PNG of the thing in its cycles. Is this what you wanted?

Oh man, I never thought of booting into OS9 and using ResEdit! How easy! And ResEdit was my main tool years ago. I must be growing old.

Erm... we already HAVE Puma. 10.0 was Puma :). 10.1 was Cheetah, and 10.2 is Jaguar.

Instructions for placing a .diff file in place of your pinwhell(I have the wavewait wait cursor, blue droplet animation)

?In the terminal:

cp /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Versions/A/CoreGraphics CoreGraphics.bak

(press enter)

cp CoreGraphics.bak CoreGraphics.new

(press enter)

patch CoreGraphics.new < (drag WaveWait.diff into terminal. Don't forget the space ie < WaveWait.diff)

(press enter)

sudo cp CoreGraphics.new /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Versions/A/CoreGraphics

(press enter)

(restart)

Look for "WaveWait.diff" on google and you should be able to find the cursor animation.

hope you have fun, it looks amazingly better than the pinwhell.
