I am looking to get a new PB in the future and was wondering if any of you are running Tiger on this kind of Machine...

15' PB
1.5Ghz G4
1GB DDR RAM
128MB ATi Radeon 9700 Pro
80GB 5400 RPM HDD
SuperDrive

Will it run good? Be smooth? Etc... I know the current builds are buggy but I am trying to see if that Macine can handle it ok....
Or is tiger really only meant to be run on G5 Machines?

Thanks all

However, Tiger should run fine on that machine. It is the newest PB out there and will defiantly be up near the "runs Tiger really good" set of computers. I know that if my PowerBook doesn't run Tiger than good I'm gonna scream... see sig for details.

Tiger is meant for Blue and White G3s and later (1998 machines). It will be faster than Panther.

Duff-Man says....maybe it is just me but I find it somewhat amusing that someone asks if a future OS will run on a future Powerbook...sorry iBunny :) ....oh yeah!

I really hope it does because those are my specs, bar the 17".

I think any machine with 1Ghz, 512mb ram, 64vram should run fine under Tiger, and anything more powerful should fly.

Im currently running 8a294 on my rev A 17" PB. It runs smooth and theres nothing i can really complain about. No im not a developer, but the question just asked if it runs ok on a PB. Yes it does. It runs smooth on my nearly 2 year old PB, and it should run fine on yours. Im sure itll become even better as time goes on.

only thing on my pb i dont get to see right now, are some of the eyecandy associated with quartz 2d extreme as my graphics card does not support it

oh well

That's strange, Quartz Extreme is supported under Panther on my TiBook with an ATI mobile 9000.
