Question about Time Capsule

I've got an opportunity to acquire a Time Capsule at no cost to me, using Marriott points. My question is regarding the wireless capability. I've currently got a good wireless network in my home - would I be able to utilize the wireless functionality as a repeater to extend the wireless network?

It depends on your current router. However, you'd be better to connect them over wires, as extending the wireless reduces the bandwidth by half for each additional unit you use to extend.
